Fleet is an Adelaide-based startup that wants to create a global digital nervous system by connecting as many as 75 billion IoT devices and sensors by 2025. It’s a concept that got Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon Brookes’ adrenaline pumping, and raised $5 million in funding early in 2017.

Muru

Muru Music is inspired by an Aboriginal Australian term for “journey”, and the world’s first Artificial Intelligence DJ Brain. Muru has combined AI with deep learning and the fundamentals of DJ-ing to create the first automated song classification engine, that can classify a song in under 5 seconds with 99% accuracy. Founder, Nicc Carter-Johnson, who has also been a professional DJ for 16-years, including a 7-year residency at Pacha Ibiza – initially came up with the idea while consulting to hospitality venues. Silverpond are a team of data scientists, machine learning specialists and software engineers who design solutions to hard problems, using ‘deep learning’ technology.  They have developed big data and software solutions for clients in industries ranging from utilities, retail and technology, to healthcare, education and research. Deep learning is about taking pure raw data, that has previously been interpreted by humans, and corresponding actions, and training computers to perform that same task, by drawing from examples, they have some great examples of Silverpond’s Deep Learning Prototypes on their website.
